Discipleship is intentionally equipping believers with the Word of God through accountable relationships, through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in order to replicate faithful followers of Christ.
Discipleship is a lifestyle, not something we turn on and off one time a fortnight when we sit around a table with our group.
Mumbling is another word that expresses meditating. To mumble is to yourself - coherent self talk. It is a way to reflect, think, dig into, contend and wrestle with a situation.
MMS30 is a discipleship group is based on remembering, pondering and meditation upon scripture, and in the process, memorising scripture.
Imagine meeting with up to 8 other people twice per month for 30 minutes before or after our Sunday Service.
And when MMS30 meets, they:
- encourage each other who have committed to giving 30 minutes during each week to meditate, ponder and remember a single verse of scripture designated for each week;
- discuss the honest reality of personal reflections each has received or wrestled with from the previous 2 verses from the last fortnight;
- have some shared clarity on the next fortnights upcoming 2 verses;
- and to pray for each other and encourage accountability.
In the process of remembering, pondering and meditating, our desire is to be able to recall, proclaim, and declare on demand, 30 new scripture verses per year.
Our desire is to grow in New Creation, being transformed by His Word. Our desire is to be more confident in the Holy Spirit working in us and speaking through us as we grow in and declare His Word, by faith – and act accordingly to His promptings.
